I never understood girls who go walk the dog dressed in horrible. They appear on the street in the old track suits or home shorts or in faded jeans, long out of fashion. Without make-up! But during a walk you can meet lots of interesting people, other dog owners, of which can come across quite a nice guy. I think you just have to look good in any situation!
